Antique Japan Religious Scroll – Buddhist Buddhism Icon

Description

Antique Japanese Buddhist scroll print featuring several unidentified religious figures.  This scroll dates from the mid Japanese Showa period (1926-1989) or before and is today in poor condition with many wrinkles as well as discoloration and fading from age and past display.  The scroll is also missing the cord which is attached to the top of the scroll and used to secure the scroll to a hook for the purpose of hanging and display.  This special Buddhist item was acquired in the historic city of Shizuoka, Japan near the foot of Mt. Fuji.

Height of entire scroll: 29.6 inches (76 centimeters)
Width (excluding rolling pin): 10.1 inches (26 centimeters)
Weight: 3.1 ounces (88 grams)
